Self Portrait Class Coming Soon

I'm excited to share with you a new direction that the Paper Chick will be exploring. I'm going to be offering an online class.

My friend Jennie and I decided to take an online class that helped you create a book about yourself. We want to have a document that shows our life right now to a) read through it in ten years and laugh at ourselves or smile over the memories b) share with our children (and their children) who we are at this point in our lives. We did a little research and discovered that after the class fee and the "required" supply list it was going to cost us close to $100. Having taught classes before I knew that I would be able to do this on my own and I want to open it up to all of you.

This is going to be very laid back and (I think) a lot of fun. Each week I will send an email with a layout subject, journaling prompts, and some sample pages I've found covering that subject to inspire you. By the end of the week we can share with each other what we did. If you are too busy that week, no problem just skip it and if you want to do two the following week (or not) that's fine too. I think that we have a very wide range of scrapbooking abilities from 'never at all' to 'any second I get' (me) so please don't feel self conscious to share your work. You can make this as creative or journalistic as you want. I think that only doing one layout a week will keep this from taking up too much of our time (because we want to live our lives not just scrapbook it!).

You can use any type of album you want from a 12x12 even down to a 4x6 (you would just have to have very small pictures), if you have something already use that!! I'm not going to give you a required supply list because I want you to use things that you already have or just things that you love...not the things that I pick out for you. I may at some point suggest something, but seriously, I want you to use what you want. The class will start the first week of April and last for 15 weeks. At that point we can decide if we want to quit, keep going on our 'self portrait' or try a different subject. The fee is $10 to cover the time I spend getting the class ready. Let me know if you want to join in.

I'm excited and looking forward to seeing your work!
